Excel Screener FAQs

What's the difference between the '5YR' and '10YR' tabs?
The 'Data 5yr' tab contains metrics calculated using 5 years of historical data for averages and growth rates (e.g., 'Revenue Growth (5yr)', 'ROIC (5yr)'). The 'Data 10yr' tab uses 10 years of historical data for these calculations. Choose the tab that aligns with the historical timeframe you want to analyze.
How often is the downloadable Excel file updated?
The underlying financial data on our servers, which powers the online interactive tools, refreshes approximately every 3 hours. This downloadable Excel file, however, is generated and updated daily. To get the latest daily compiled data, re-download this file. For the most frequent intra-day updates, please use the online screeners.
Why is the file size large?
The file contains comprehensive 5-year and 10-year fundamental metrics for over 35,000 global stocks across many columns, resulting in a large dataset necessary for detailed offline analysis.
Do I need macros enabled?
No. The file uses standard Excel features. You can safely disable macros and external data connections if prompted when opening the file.
Can I use this file with Google Sheets or other spreadsheet software?
While the file is in `.xlsx` format, compatibility with all features (especially complex filtering) might vary in software other than Microsoft Excel. Basic sorting and filtering should work in most compatible applications like Google Sheets, but performance may differ.
